Ben Walsh and Bobby Singh have collaborated for almost a decade through a multiple array of music styles from around the globe. Nirmana (farsi for 'invention') features the Kotoor, an instrument designed by Ben which sounds similar to the Persian santoor but with a distinct Japanese koto sonic influence. At times this recording is reminiscent of Romanian gypsy music but will transport you suddenly to Egypt, India, Turkey and even China. Bobby's tabla provides a strong classical Indian influence, but this album is experimental and inventive, creating a New World music indicative of multi-cultural Australia.
